Bollywood actor Sanya Malhotra, who is garnering praise for her brilliant performance in the released film Kathal, has made a shocking revelation about being asked to undergo jaw surgery. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she was asked to do jaw surgery to alter her appearance during the auditions of her debut film Dangal, where she essayed the role of wrestler Babita Phogat. Sanya mentioned that she was left shocked at the suggestion as she has always felt very happy about her body and looks.

In an interview with a leading daily, Malhotra recalled her struggles during her early days and stated, “I remember during Dangal someone told me to get your jaw reconstructed. I was like ye kya hota hai? Bhaiya, yeh toh humne nai suna. Main toh harran ho rahe the ki yeh jaw reconstruction ke liye kaise bol sakte hai. Seedhe se baat hai yeh kaise suggestion hai. I am very happy with my body. Even when I came to Bombay I remember main auditions pe jati the aur bina makeup kiye jaati the. Itna confidence. Lena hai toh lenge warna main jaa rahe hu ghar. Aamir Khan starrer sports drama was Sanya’s first Hindi project and the film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies. While Khan essayed the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra portrayed the adult versions of the Phogat sisters, Geeta and Babita.

Meanwhile, Sanya will next be seen sharing the silver space with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 'Jawan' where the actor plays a double role. Directed by Atlee, the actioner is slated to hit the theatres on September 7 this year.
